Course Overview

This qualification is designed to meet the needs of specialist demolition workers who are responsible for dismantling and demolishing a wide range of structures, including public, residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. It also covers the processing of resulting materials for salvage, recycling, and waste disposal.

Occupational titles for individuals holding this qualification may include:

  • Demolition Worker
  • Demolition Plant Operator
  • Demolition Team Leader

Entry Requirements

Prerequisite Units:  No prerequisite units are required for this course.

Other Requirements:

  • Completion of the general construction induction training program, specified in the Safe Work Australia model Code of Practice: Construction Work, is required by anyone carrying out construction work.
  • Achievement of CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement.

Health & Safety Advisory Service offers credit transfer for statements of attainment and qualifications issued by other Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) in Australia. To apply, you must provide original or certified copies of documents and agree to verification processes. Your Unique Student Identifier (USI) and Vocational Education and Training (VET) transcript can also be used for recognition.

We also offer Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for those who have relevant prior knowledge or experience through formal, non-formal, or informal learning. To apply for RPL, you must:

  • Demonstrate relevant prior learning and experience
  • Provide proof of formal or non-formal training, or informal learning
  • Submit authenticated documents or work samples
  • Show current skills in an interview or observation

You may also be eligible for Smart and Skilled funding to supplement your course fees.
